Vim Beverage sells espresso from carts it books directly against convention floors. LBCC alone will book 30 to 35 carts for its 4-day run, and venues like the Las Vegas Convention Center effectively sell Vim's services on to the booths that need coffee. That is a Carnival pattern: intense, short bursts of activity tied to a handful of shows a year, then quiet in between. The founder described nearly running out of cash in January, which is exactly what you would expect from a business whose revenue arrives in short, unpredictable spikes rather than a steady monthly flow.

The fit isn't overwhelming. Carnival scores 57 out of 100, with Franchise close behind at 54 and Labyrinth at 47. That gap matters less than what it tells you: Vim doesn't control its own demand. The venue, not Vim, decides how many booths get sold and how many carts get ordered, which is why the founder said flatly that they don't know how many they're going to sell until the show is underway. Staffing follows the same logic, with one runner assigned per four carts, so headcount is set by the booking count a venue hands you, not by a plan Vim makes on its own.

Today Vim is worth $6.68M in enterprise value at an 18% discount rate. The instinct to trade the January scare for something calmer is understandable, but the numbers say the calmer model is worth less, not more.

That means the highest-value work isn't replacing the Carnival pattern, it's making the peaks safer to ride. Locking in cart commitments from venues like LBCC and Sedexo earlier in the booking cycle would turn the founder's guesswork into a number Vim can plan around, and pairing that with a cash reserve sized to the gap between shows would keep January from ever feeling like a near-death month again. The one-runner-per-four-carts ratio is already a working formula; the job now is turning it into a staffing plan that fires the moment a booking count comes in. Vim's value sits in the surge, not in flattening it.
